Way Back When-esday and It is WAY BACK WHEN
Our daughter with her new brothers July 1981
Dig the oily hair on the boy's...they had craddle cap. Never experienced it with my daughter, but the boy's were early and had that pealing thing happening. Lotion and oil really helped and the bonus, they loved the massage of me always rubbing them down.

A Blessed Day
I need to remember God's will is as strong as my Faith!
In praying to Him on having to tell the 'Grands' about Maybell, He was there with us and allowed the moment to be a true blessing.
Of course their first reaction was of sadness. 'Ellie Bellie' was first, while 'Bug' kept asking questions. When we arrived at the house, (we ditched dance today so to have more time with them and answer any and all question) the first thing they commented on was how Maybell use to greet us at the gate. When 'Ellie Bellie' came in to see grandpa, she gave him a hug and in that adorable, sweet, loving voice, tells grandpa, "Life is different here now!" Bug seemed to be concerned with the where and how she got hit. I know it is because he see's other roadkill. (sorry, but when you live in the country, there tends to be animals along the road, as much as I hate to see that myself, and my heart breaks, our dear dog being seen the same way tugs, but am so glad she wasn't) Her hit was clean, if that makes sense. She acquired a head injury and that is all. She looked good, though I didn't see her, my hubby says she just looked asleep. Bug wanted to know where so we showed him. I wondered if he thought he would see something, but am so glad there was nothing to see. I think it made him feel better that she was not like other animals he has seen. How I wish we could blind our children or grands from this kind of life, but it is what it is and all we can do is explain it in a way they understand and paint a better picture then that of their wondering minds.
The best way to distract is to attract other things of interest, so we went out to the lemon tree and did our yearly pictures.

Then picked some lemon's...
Posed with the said lemons...
Lemonaide
Now, I see the can of instant can be seen in the background but I can testify under oath, we never used it. Bug got it out when we began squeezing the lemons. I guess he thought we had to use it too but of course I told him we didn't need it.
Though my Monday was not be like others, it surely wasn't as bad as last Monday. In fact, it was a very BLESSED Monday.
It is Monday, Right!
Today my Monday was to be the first Back to Normal, Monday. The 'Grands' are home from visiting their dad for the holidays, back to school, and I pick them up after to do dance and homework until mom get doen with work. Sounds about normal, right!
Wrong, hubby is still sick so no work for him today. He had been laying in the bed that is usually made by now until he decided he wanted some toast and tea after I had already shined my sink and counters for the day. Programs I usually watch are being interupted for his, but that is ok, I'm on here and not paying attention to what's on there.
Oh, and as I was starting the dishwasher, I noticed that the jet dry was low, so I grabbed the bottle to fill it. It didn't take long, a few seconds, to realize I grabbed the liquid dish soap. A bit of frustration overcame me for just a few minutes and for a few good reason's. 1. NEVER do I buy such a small bottle of dish soap, but hubby said last week that is all they had in the brand I use. So under the sink it went, and 2. not to the back where I usually keep the big bottle, but right next to the jet dry and dishwasher tablets. Ok, so I am a stickler for things being in the right places, just ask my daughter. Had it been put in it's right place, I would have never grabbed it. Hubby defending himself, said I should have noticed, but I quickly pointed out that they are the same size, same color, and in the same place. Next time, put it away where it belongs.
Finally, when I pick up the 'Grands' from school, after dance and sometime either before or when we get home for homework, I have to break the news about Maybell. I feel strong and confident that I will be able to accomplish this, just not sure how they will react. It will be their first time dealing with a death of someone they have loved all thier lives, all 5 and 8 of them. Maybell was not just a dog, she was a buddy, a companion, and did I say buddy already.
It is Monday-Right! I think without a doubt it will be a second to last Monday, the day we lost Maybell, being one of the hardest to get through, but get through we will.

Getting to Know YOU!
Ok, I am late, and really didn't think I would get it done this week, but here I am...
Keely's question this week are:
1. If you were stranded on a desert island and could pick one person to be stranded with you..Who would you pick? Family members not included.
2. Do you read celebrity gossip?
3. Favorite show you're waching this season?
4. How tall are you?
5. What was the last book you read?
6. Flats or heels?
7. If you had to choose one natural disaser to go through, what would you choose..Earthquake, Tornado, or Hurricane?
8. Thong, panties, or (gasp) granny panties?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
1. If you were stranded on a desert island and could pick one person to be stranded with you..Who would you pick? Family members not included.
It would definately be a friend, because in order to be stranded somewhere, one would have to be traveling and I never venture out alone. It's that buddy system thing. I am not sure of any one particular person, but hopefully it would someone who would make my stay comfortable.
2. Do you read celebrity gossip?
Rarely, I do flip, or glance at pictures sometimes but rarely read. Now listen, would be different thing. GMA, which we watch every morning, has it's own way of passing along gossip.
3. Favorite show you're waching this season?
Lost, it's final season. Been waiting a long time for it. Second would be Grey's Anatomy.
4. How tall are you?
5'7"
5. What was the last book you read?
Still reading, One Year Bible for Women. Other then that, the 'Grands" and I have been reading, Runny Babbit, A Billy Sook by Shel Silverstein
6. Flats or heels?
Flat of different kinds, crocs, berks, and flops
7. If you had to choose one natural disaser to go through, what would you choose..Earthquake, Tornado, or Hurricane?
Being a California grown girl, would have to say earthquake. I have been in the line of fire, had to take cover, for a tornado, or shall I say tornado's, since 12 touched down around us in a matter of 6 hours. The longest 6 hours of my life. Even called home to tell the family we loved them just in case we were...well, you know! Scared the beejesess out of me. Let's j ust say I will not be going to Tornado Alley anytime soon.
8. Thong, panties, or (gasp) granny panties?
Panties when I am going to the doctor's, but most the time it is zip, notta, nothing. I never understood the thong things, wouldn't it feel like there is something up yout, um, butt! Though a granny, that doesn't mean I have to wear to wear them.
So there you have it, now you can hop on over to Keely's and Get to Know Other's. Just copy the question and answer them, link back to her, and that's all there is to it. If you don't have a blog and you still want to play...just answer the questions in the comments section. But seriously, it's a whole lot of fun to hop over and link up.

A New Friday Thingy
Every week, maybe even every day, there are new, (and some old ones too) bog hops like...Funday Sunday, Not me Monday's, Tasty Tuesday, Wordless Wednesdays, Thankful Thrusdays, Five Question Friday, and lastly (only because that is how a week ends) Super Snapshot Saturday.
Some weeks I have been good about doing one or another, and maybe even some weeks, ALL. But not this week. If you have been following, you would know why. If this is your first time here, check out the archives. I have been having my own pitty party! Between not feeling 100%, which is not unusual, the loss of our dog took me over the top. I found myself in a funk, then got rid of that junk, finally got Christmas all packed up, and had a Birthday Celebration (no pictures-I will not let any take a photo pf me when I feel bad, which makes me look bad).
Well maybe one....it is what I got from my daughter. I loved it so much, that I had to apply it to my NEW dining room wall when we got home. Now all I have to do is hang the family photo's around it.
In keeping up with an unusual week, I found this new Friday thing through The Jonas Family. So to keep things stirred up in my life, here are my Fill in the_______'s
1. There are places _I remember!__.
2. __Let the sun back into my heart and___ blow those clouds away.
3. Standing in the __midst of LIFE!________.
4. ___TGIF___ oh boy.
5. He went out tiger hunting ___and got hit by a car!___.
6. ___LOVE will keep_____ my mind from wandering .
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to __relaxing___, tomorrow my plans include _Storing all The Christmas boxes____ and Sunday, I want to _PRAISE GOD, for being with me this last week____!
So there you go, now it's you turn.
