Does BUSY mean....

I read this on another blog by Hannah who found it on another blog by Linda. Since we missed church this morning due to visitors and an abused body due to planting spring flowers, I thought it would be a perfect post for Sunday.

I DO NOT feel that Satan had any plan in me staying home today, God knows my limits. Though I am not there for fellowship, I still read my bible, say my prayers, and continue to lift my heart to Him. However, I do see some of his work interferring with my relationship. God forgives me, so I will forgive myself and not be so BUSY.

SATAN'S MEETING

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth...."

"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with Their SAVIOR."

"Once they gain that connection with JESUS, our power over them is Broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their
time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship With JESUS CHRIST.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:"Distract them from gaining hold of their SAVIOR and maintaining that Vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable Schemes to occupy their minds," he answered......

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty Lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from The pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."

"Entice them to play the radio or I-Pod whenever they drive."

"To Keep the TV, DVDs, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see To it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music Constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with CHRIST."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.""Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and Every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services And false hopes."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll Become dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."

"Give them headaches too! "

"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to Look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the Real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about HIS resurrection And power over sin and death..."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."

"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on GOD'S creation.Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and Small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek Power from JESUS."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health And family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!""It will work!" It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier & more rushed, going here & there.

Having little time for their GOD or their families.Having no time to tell others about the power of JESUS to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

My Answers:

1. Would you rather bungee jump or sky dive?

Neither! I would never let someone tie my ankles together and MAKE me jump off anything. Nor would I jump out of a perfectly safe plane. However, my son likes to jump out of planes while the other likes to fly them.

 2. When using a public restroom to you squat over the seat or sit?

I prefer to sit with a gasket. If no gaskets are available I will line the seat with toilet paper. I will NEVER, NEVER use outdoor potta potties!


3. Favorite flower?

My all time favorite is the Iris...

When we lived in the Napa Valley, my front yard was full of them. However, since moving to the desert, I can't seem to grow them. I buy them already grown, plant and enjoy, in hopes they will come back the next year but those little booger gophers eat them everytime.

However, I have gotten good at roses...

4. Pedicure or manicure?


Both, OHH! The luxury of it! Wish I would it more often not just for special occassions.


5. How many siblings do you have?


3 sisters, all older then me. 1 older brother and a 1 younger brother.

6. Do you pee in the shower? (gasp!)

Yep, Keely said it was TMI, but I will answer with a BIG NO! However, we can't get this little guy not too.

 7. Bikini, tankini, or one piece?

No bikini for this grandma but I have a nice size collection of tankini's and one piece's.


8. Where do you hate to shop at, but go there anyway?

Doesn't everyone HATE to shop at Walmart! I know I do, but survive the battle each week for those LOW prices. Get me in and out in less then an hour and I'm happy.

This picture was taken 2006 and the 'Grand' Ellie Bellie was 2 years old. I have not played around with texture nor do I know how to add color to a B & W but plan to learn and play around with it more.

Six Word Saturday

Coming Soon...Midnight at the Oasis

Next week is our annual car show that draws close to, if not more then 1000 car from all over.


It has become a tradition for celebrating our anniversary as it always falls close to, if not on our anniversary. Our son has a 65 Falcon convertible....

No, this is not his...yet!

This is it when he lived in Hawaii. Which is where he found the car. No, that is not his wife or baby either. She is his twins, the fireman, now exwife. In 2004 we took the whole family over to spend Christmas with our son, the policeman, who had lived there for 3 years. 

.

We shipped the car home in 2005.

Restoration began in 2007.

Right now it is dorment with other projects causing side tracks but not forgotten. They continue to look for and pick up parts and will begin working on it again sometime soon. My back property doesn't even look like that anymore. Well, kind of. Sheds have been built, and the piles organized and properlly stores.

I look forward to when we (He) gets to enter it into Midnight at the Oasis.

Not just the Falcon...

He has a 67 GTO that is at the body shop getting fixed from a wreck and will be finished way before the falcon is. Unfortunately it won't be done for this years show, but definitely next year.

He also has a 67 Mustang that is in great shape and again will be ready for the show before the Falcon. It too came from Hawaii but doesn't need as much work as the Falcon does.

What Faith Can Do!

The sun was definitely shining today.

Not uncommon in the desert, but I actually went out into it, even if just for a couple hours while the housekeeper was cleaning. What a blessing when the lady at the bank tells you it has been a while since she has seen me. Then tells me how great I look, though I really didn't feel like I did. My hair is in a scrunchie, I'm in jeans, an old tank top and an old denim Mother of the Bride from our daughter wedding. I really don't feel beautiful at all, yet she made me feel like I did. Her words gave me such a lift that I went shopping. Though I was only able to make it to one store, buying for the 'Grands' just iced the cake.

While on my home, this song came on the radio. MIRACLES do happen. I love what God shows me he creates them. I love how God gives me strength. I LOVE that Jesus came to save me. He will continue to do His work and our family will rise above all the set backs, just as He plans.

All my worries and fears are His and He will take care of our struggles.

FAITH...thats what it can do...

5Q's Friday with MamaM

Yeppee! Not only is it 5 Questions Friday but my housekeeper finally showed up after 3 weeks of excuses. At one point, I was ready to look for someone knew since this seems to be a pattern with her. Being the forgiving and understanding person I am, we'll just move on forward and see how it goes. In her defense, she does do a great job when she comes and I am happy with my home when she leaves. Now if it can just be consistant!

When she comes, I like to leave her to her work and it is my time for shopping. Today I went to Children's Place and bought the 'Grands' matching outfits.

My answers:

1. Do you sing karaoke? If so, what is your go to song?

No, not me! Since I became ill, I can't carry note any more. Probably has something to do with those darn muscles in my throat.

My daughter does though. Her and her friends seem to have a wonderful time.

2. What is your favorite coffee drink?

I don't drink coffee nor do I make it. Even though I don't drink it, I do buy and keep supplies for friends and family who do. When they come for visits they know it is their responsiblity to either provide their own or make it from what I keep on hand for them.

3. If you could choose your own name, what would it be?

Myself, I wouldn't choose a different name. I love my name. However, when I was in Kindergarten I wanted to marry a little boy whose name was Robert Taylor so I could be Elizabeth Taylor, LOL!

4. Were you ever bullied?

Definitely. As much as I hated it, I learned how to avoid certain people. Remember my disfunctional home life...had a lot to do with it. I wonder what those idiots are doing in their lives now? I wonder if they taught their kids how to bully?

5. How often do you eat fast food?

If you had asked this question 10 years ago, my answer would have been often to too much. Now it is rarely and mainly Del Taco. I love thier Chicken taco's. While on road trips we will stop at places like Wendy's, Subway or Burger King but that is about it. Do you consider take out from Dave's BBQ fast food? We tend to place our order to go and enjoy their ribs at home.

Humdrum!

Ok, it's 1:22 in the afternoon and I am still in my robe and nightgown.

Lately it has been happening a lot. Yesterday was no different as I rested from a miserable night. I get these spells of choking and I can't breathe. This one lasted almost all night. I was so tired and drained I didn't make to Bible Study last night. While hubby worked out in the wood workshop, I watch the movie Women then listened to music while I read my Bible.

Today I am not in any kind of funk, just don't feel like getting dressed. There is no where to go, no one coming over, and Bella enjoys tugging at my robe as I walk past.

I have wrote a few post for next week, because we will be gone.

I have shined my sink, did a few loads of laundry and have swept up doggy debris (no not potties, she is alreay house broke), more then once. Seems she likes to bring in twigs and leaf's, then leave the mess for me to clean up. Along with all her other interesting toys...water bottle, an old black plastic plant container, and a plastic bowl that use to be our 'Grands'. That  bowl one is the funniest...with it flipped over, she tries to get her teeth to flip it back but on hardwood floors it just skids acroos the floor and she chases it...it's crazy funny. Yesterday I got a few seconds of it on video but have no idea how to upload to here. So a picture of her with it will have to do.

Hang on...I hear her into something again....seems she likes the wrought iron handles on my nightstand. Amazingly, she was able to flip it up (it's one that has a ring type thingy) and was able to open the drawer. Thankfully there was nothing interesting in the draw for her. When I walked in to see what she was into, she sat up like a pretty girl and gave that look of, "I wasn't doing anything?"

Oh, and while doing all the above, I watched King Ralph along with my recording of GMA and Pioneer Women. If you missed it, hop on over to her blog. She has a link to it. I use to make a kickass pot roast. Haven't made one since 1992 when my hubby stopped eating red meat.

What else do I have planned for today...absolutely nothing. It only took me 42 minutes to get this wrote...life with a 2 month old puppy is like having a two year old in the house.

Way Back When-sDay

1981

Our twins, not sure which month, probably 2-3 months old.

As a mother, I could always tell them apart but other's could not.

So we developed a system and a saying.

Adam was always in blue and Aaron in red.

"Aaron the Red Baron, and you didn't know him from Adam."

What's funny, though Adam was in blue he became our Fireman/Paramedic. While Aaron who wore red, he now wears blue as a policeman.

Take Me Back Tuesday

This week I will take you back to when we traveled

to the Redwoods in Northen California.

My first trip was in 1963 with my family. Being 6 years old, the cute little blonde on the bottom left, I remember just a few details of this trip. At Confussion Hill, besides the Shoe House, there is the Gravity House and a train ride that takes you up the mountain.

 My hubby and I took our first vacation together through the Redwoods in 1977. We found the Old Drive Thru Tree I remember going though when I went as a child.

We drove along the Avenue of the Giants.

Then again, in 1979, we took another trip and found the shoe house.

This time the picture was of me and our daughter.

Our next up was in 1980 with my hubby's parents. We were heading to Orcas Island, Washington and stopped for lunch at Richardson Grove. Our daughter was just walking and didn't take her long to acquire balance in the motorhome.

It was a very special trip with many memories.

We were to take one more trip through the Redwoods before we moved away in 1994. It was 1991 and we were headed to Eureka for my nieces graduation from High School. Our first stop was Richardson Grove. Our twin boys loved the adventure going through the Junior Ranger Program. Our daughter though, was not as adventureous and would hang out at the campsite, reading and listening to her walkman. So much so, that she drained the battery in the truck and had to have a ranger jump start it for us. One night, while sitting around the campfire, telling the usuall ghost stories a campfire invites, right when I was getting to the part that upon itself makes kids jump out of their skins with just the normal actions, my hubby had taken a drink of brandy and at the perfect moment, spit it into the fire. Immedately the flames jump 5 feet high and the kids just as high off their seats.

The next day, we headed out toward our destination and stopped at Confussion Hill. I believe I got another picture of the my kids in the Shoe House. We spent the day playing around the hill, riding the train and exporing.

It is stories like this that I wish I had all our photos of our journeys more organized and on the computer.

Enough Already..There's Something More Important!

Ok, enough of my philosphying...

I do not have a college degree in it, nor have I ever studied it, but I have gone through the college of LIFE! What we have gone through does create some insight on the love for wisdom.

These last few days I have reflected on what this last year brought, but I also can see what it created. Like the forest after a fire, it will take time to regrow, but grow it does.

We have a wonderful family, we are strong, loving, forgiving and grateful for all God has provided.

I mean, when you get to experience days like these...

A grandma can't help but be happy, watching the 'Grands' and Bella play! This is what's more important!

Some people can really spin a web. Some people spin such webs that others get caught in them. They work hard to lure and capture others in their web.

 
Some people believe they are a puppet master. They pull strings and yank at the heart of others.

I can honetly say that I do not spin any webs nor use others as puppets. I work hard in cleaning the webs off my walls. I also found it was more enjoyable to watch a puppet show then to put one on. This is not to say I am always good or always right, just that I try to do the right thing, act on the truth, share the truth, learn from the truth, and be blessed by the truth. The path along this road might not be easy, but so long as I keep focused on the truth at hand, why I am or was fighting for that truth, God always seems to reward me in the end.

And what about those closets...

My closets are clean, well organized, and can be opened anytime. Though there are some things in there I am not proud of, it did create growth and knowledge. We all learn from our mistakes and they will always remain a part of me but not control me.
 
So I say, let them spin away, because my house is clean. When it seems to get cluttered by all the junk and webs, most of what is usually created by others, though my fault of letting them into my heart and home, I bring in the cleaning crew. With their help, all that junk, all those webs, all that clutter, is taken care of. I'll watch the puppet show, laugh or cry through it, and I will remember it is just a show. I believe there is only one Master and that is God!

Way Back When-esday!

I love going way back with my twins, but until I acquire a new scanner, this week I will be going Way Back to one of my twins and his family. 

The Last Time I Saw Their Faces....April 2009...seems like a lifetime ago.
