Blessed!

Exactly!

That is just how we feel around here.

It has been an awesome week and there is no other word that can describe it.

We were blessed to run into John Mc Cain last Thursday while going out to lunch. We had no idea he was in town, none the less he was at where we like to go. As we were walking in, he was walking out and we were provided with a photo snap we hadn't expected.

Had we known we might have dressed for the occasion. Oh well, we are the working class and I had just come from the doctors. Even so, it felt like God had a hand in us being there at that particular time and place. What a blessing!

We were blessed with 4 wonderful days with all the the 'Grands'. Yep! All 7 of them. Seems we were missing one, but his mom had to work and couldn't make the trip over. Sometimes these things happen and as we always do, we rolled with it. I wish I could post a picture of all those happy faces. All my 'Grands' enjoying their new cousin. All my 'Grands' swimming and playing in my yard. They even put on a puppet show, set up chairs like for an audience, and took turns being the puppet masters. I did post a few pictures on my 365 blog, but there were so many more wonderful moments. If you follow my private blog, head over there later today and I will have a more of the pictures available.

Yes, we are so blessed! Blessed that we are a family, a strong family, a family that sticks together through thick and thin. Blessed that through everything we can still laugh and enjoy each other's company.

Prior to them all coming for this weekend, I had been having a hard time with my health. It has limited my activity but will never limit my spirit. Just when my neck begins to get better, we are plunged into something new. Later today I have to head to the doctors for a lump on my back. I am not sure what it is but it has been there a week now and is very uncomfortable. We will take it one step at a time and see what happens. Having this pain is no blessing but we still feel blessed to have the love and support of family and friends. I always feel blessed that God has given me these last 10 years. I always see myself as a survivor. I know how much it knocked me down back then, but I also see how much He has allowed for me to be a part of all this. I hope and pray that this is just something minor, something they can take care of easily.

After all, I have plans...plans to be a part of a Party Challenge that can take our party business to the next level. Plans to host a special ladies 25th Birthday here next weekend. Plans to host our 2nd Annual Boo Bash the following weekend. Plans to go to NASCAR for the second to the last race of the season. Plans to hold a very thankful Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas. Plans to take us into the New Year, in new directions, and continue to enjoy this awesome family around me.

So yes, I am blessed to be where I am, have all these wonderful, happy , 'Grands' to keep me going. I am blessed that my bad days are healed by them and filled with their giggles and spirit.

These Just In!

At the hospital...

Homecoming!

2 days old and can smile...she is a very happy baby!

She got to meet her cousins, Button's and Bug.

And big brother got to hold her again.
I knew he was going to enjoy being a big brother.

So...LIFE around here is wondeful!

...And Here She Is!

Meet Madison Elizabeth born Oct. 3, 2010 at 11:11 am, weighed 9lbs even, 21 inches long and full head of hair. She is just so beautiful!

With her arrival, I got to spend two days with her big brother. This was the first time we spent so much time together without his mom and he LOVED being with us. He would cry a few times that he missed his mom but when it was time to go home, he actually wanted to stay with us. I think he is just a bit out of sorts with this new sister. After all, he has been the main man for 4 years. I am sure though he will love being the Big Brother.

With the arrival of Maddie, our Firemanson will be coming over this weekend with his gang. I can't wait! My hope is to get a group photo and pray I am successful.

Our Firemanson is enjoying his regular visits with his kids. Here Titus is at his dads fire house...

The week before he took them to the Drop Zone. This was a place our son loved to escape, jump out of a plane, and float back to earth. The kids had a great time and even went in the wind tunnel to get a feeling of what dad did. Lillian had a grin from ear to ear when she went really high and enjoyed flying like a bird!

With them coming over this weekend, I went to the fabris store and bought all the supplies to make the girls matching Halloween Tutu's. Yes, even little baby (need to think of a name for her, her daddy calls her Punkie, we'll see) will get one.

So today I have already gotten Ellie's Halloween costume pinned out.

When I went to cut it out I couldn't find my good sissors. I have no idea where they ended up after the baby shower. Probably got packed in a box from the set-up but I am not going to waste anymore time looking. I needed a new pair anyways so after I get done here, I am heading back to the fabric store to get a new pair. I don't mind though. I wanted to pick up some orange netting as well for those tutu's.

I am so blessed! So proud to be a grandma to now 7, 4 girls and 3 boys.

Of I go to the fabric store and get things ready for an exciting weekend. Have a great day and thanks for allowing me to share Our Journey Through LIFE with you all.

A Monster Weekend!

I got my wish, better yet, our prayers were answered!

After a Saturday of watching the men do yard work, and a 'Grand' stomping in the yard...

Of course with Bella...

We headed out on our date, first out to dinner then off to the track to watch the Monster Trucks. The company that ran the show did a fairly good job. Though nothing like what we have seen on T.V., and some times it was rather boring (there I go again with that boring) it was nice to be out of the house, seeing friends, and spending time with the family.

Of all the moments of the evening, I think this, NO I KNOW, this was the best part. At the beginning of the event, after the national anthem, this fire truck began to whine. Actually I didn't know what the whining was till I asked and was told it was this fire truck...

And the whining was for this...

A jet engine inside.

Ok, tht was cool! But it got better. After the trucks, motorbikes, and quads did their tricks (sorry all my pictures were blurry), just before intermission, they brought the firetruck back out to set a couple cars stacked on each other on fire. Check it out...

Over the years I have taken a number of firetruck pictures for our son, but NEVER have I gotten one like this. It will be quite an addition to the collection and something we're sure to talk about for some time.

As if our weekend wasn't blessed by spending this time with the family.

We had only been home a few minutes when the call came for us to go pick up the little man.

Yep, the new granddaughter was on her way.

All of Sunday was spent between home and hospital and tending to the little man. Monday we got ready for baby sisters homecoming. Phew!

As soon as pictures are approvedfor posting I will fill you in on the details.

Thanks for stopping by. Love having you here.

Boring!

Not at all!

Well maybe having to be stuck at home most of the week has been but there are other things going on that have kept me off the walls.  Unfortunately not out of bed or off the couch, but that’s ok.

Yesterday, hubby came and picked me up and took me to the ‘Grands’ school so we could have lunch with them. Why? Because ‘Grand’ Bug was chosen to work in the cafeteria for the week and wanted us to come see him do his job. He was so happy to see us walk in and he loved showing off his job of adding the cookies to the trays.

After, since we didn’t eat the school’s lunch, not that it wasn’t or didn’t look good because their school has some awesome food, we decided to go to Brewster’s for lunch.  I have never been there since they opened and boy do they serve you a plate of food. The hamburger was outstanding and the fries, well, so much of them I commented there was enough to feed the homeless. I love that restaurants serve great food but when they serve so much and it goes to waste, well my mind tends to think of those  less fortunate how much they would enjoy it. Next time, I will order ala carte and we can share an order of fries.

Over lunch, my daughter and I talked about our current challenge and we can’t wait to get our assignments. I hope I get to make the item’s I pitched and the ones my daughter suggested. My brain has already been in the creative mode.

I was able to get ‘Grand’ Buttons measured for her Halloween costume on Wednesday during our Grandma Day and she doesn't  fit into just one size. Figures! Not only is this going to be her Halloween costume but she will wear it for her Alice in Wonderland Party next March.

I can’t wait to see how it comes out and see her in it. The fabric we picked out matches perfectly and I found some old buttons in my MIL’s old sewing stuff to use. She even had some black ribbon and lace that will work great. Unfortunately Bella liked the lace also and took off with it outside. I think I will be able to hand wash it so to use it, if not we saw some last weekend that will work also. Never a dull moment with Bella.

Just this morning while my SIL was here mowing my lawn, he sat down the weed trimmer wire and in a blink of an eye, Bella grabbed it and ran off prancing like ha,ha! Silly girl ran into the house to keep away from him and ran right into hubby who was able to get it from her. Bella is so funny. When you play with her and her toys, she fetches and brings them back. When she has something she knows she isn’t suppose to, it’s a game of keep away.

Because of my neck I didn’t make it to my Bible study on Wednesday. Of course it didn’t stop me from doing my lessons and if you haven’t heard of Jennifer Rothschild check her out. We are doing Me, Myself and Lies and I love it.  Some might think it means something completely different then what it is. It’s teaching us to stop and think about our thoughts. Stop thinking we are stupid, when we are not. Stop chopping us down, instead build us up. For me, after years of being told certain things by my family (father, brother and sister) it’s no wonder I beat myself up. NO MORE! In fact, no one will ever get to attack me ever again. I have acquired a might shield and His way will protect me from such people.

Also this week I had the pleasure of watching my son work on his 67’ Mustang. As I sat outside on my bench, I got a tickle in my heart as everything he does brings back memories of his dad at this age. Back then, the men would be working on cars, children playing around and the women chatting, sharing, and laughing. Now it was happening again, this time I am the grandparent, my kids the parents and their children are in my own yard and we all were having a great time. The ‘Grands’ were asking questions, wanting to help, along with playing. I know that what they are experiencing now will be a memory for ever. I hear it from my kids…remember when?

Tomorrow night is the Monster Trucks out at Cocopah Speedway and I hope I feel up to going out. My daughter and her family are going and it would be a load of fun! Hubby is worried of me going but I really want to go.

So it really hasn’t been all that boring this week. Plus next week I should be feeling a whole lot better and can venture out into the world on my own.

Thanks for stopping in. Thanks for following, even when my blog is kind a whacky. I enjoy reading my followers, and though I don’t always comment, I love visiting you.

Stay tune for more of Our Journey Through LIFE!
