Today Someone Turns 5

5 years ago today this little monkey man entered our lives!

We have enjoyed watching him grow into this magnifcent little guy.

He surely fills our hearts with love each and every time he runs into our arms.

 

Tomorrow we will head over to celebrate his BIG day!

Our Weekend

After 3 'Grand' days in a row, they still can't get enough of us. I guess being gone for 5 weeks they really wanted to make up for lost time.

Saturday they dropped by before 24/7, our church's Saturday night service. Of course they spend most their time playing with Bella, who is just as happy they are home. The minute she hears their car pull into the drive she is at the window watching to make sure it is them coming in. Then she rushes to the door jumping and twirling around in excitement.

Then the paying begins! Sorry some of these are blurry but it is hard to capture them when they are on the move. My daughter showed me new settings on the camera but they still came out fussy.

Bella loves to play tug of war. So the kids sit on the floor and she pulls them. The giggles are uncontrollable. It was time to leave and Bella collapsed for the night.

Sunday when we went to church we were told a number of time that the kids were looking for us. Unfortunately by the time we got there they were already in the study rooms. After church they called and wanted to come out again. First we watched the end of the NASCAR race before heading out to the pool.

Even Grandpa joined in the fun.

But Bella captured their attention as always.

Since we flood irrigate we have a pump that turns on when there is water in the ditch. Someone else was watering thus causing the pump to come on and Bella discovered it.

So we asked Bug to move the hose but Bella thought it was a game.

We finally had to unplug the pump before she would leave the hose alone.

She wasn't done playing though. Just minutes later she snagged one of the pool noodles and took off running with it. It became a game of chase and it created a lots of laughs watching the kids chase her down to get the noodle back.

Our day ended with a wonderful family dinner and conversation about the next day being the first day of school. These two are so excited to go back to school.

It is wonderful to have our routine back.

Hatch'em

A few weeks ago we were in Phoenix for business, well hubby was. I go along for shopping while he is in his meetings. We all went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and I saw this and immediately thought of the 'Grand' Bug. Since he was at his dad's for the summer we got to hatch it during our 3 'Grand' Days in a row.

After 12 -24 hours it began to break out of it's shell.

By Day 2 he looked like this. We even had to put him in a bigger bowl.

Bug went ahead and broke off the rest of the shell.

Day 3 he got even bigger! We are going to leave him in the water for

a few more days and see if he gets even bigger.

I think I am going to go to our Cracker Barrel and

see if they have them and pick up some more.

Oh No!

My son sent me this article of a fire he was on today. Our son is the fireman laying back looking towards the camera next to the air tanks.

Having a water treatment business, this has happened to my husband once in his 33 years in the business. Soldering pipes during installation is necessary and he take every precaution that this doesn't happen. When it happened to us, our employee hadn't even began to solder. He got as far as lighting his torch when all of a sudden a flash of fire went over his head and consumed the whole underside of the house. All that burnt was the material that covered the installation. Why it started...the home owner had stored gasoline inside the crawl space access. It was the fumes that ignitated creating the carpet of flame. Once the fumes burned off and since there was no more fuel, plus the quick thinking of my hubby and the employee, by the time the fire department got there, the fire was out. Praise God that there was no damage other then smoke in the house. Our insurance paid for the clean up but we didn't have to buy them a new house. I'll bet this company's insurance will be paying out a whole more!

Return of the 'Grands'

Sunday two of our 'Grands' came home from their visit with thier dad for 5 weeks. Oh how I have missed them!

So yesterday we had our first offical 'Grand' Day! In fact I have them again today and tomorrow. As Button's said last night during dinner, "We get to spend 3 days with you!" I couldn't be more blessed.

And what did we do yesterday? What else but spent hours in the pool!

Even Bella was happy they were home and wanted to be part of the fun!

After swimming it was time to get dinner on the table. While me and my daughter did the preparing, our other 'Grand' The Boy arrived and the three of them played on the beach.

What better way to end a wonderful family day and dinner then with a bowl of ice cream.

I am so happy and blessed to have them all here.

Today Was A Great Day!

We got up really earlier (5:30 a.m. to be exact) and headed to Phoenix to pick up some rental equipment for our business.

By noon all the equipment was loaded and we were back on the road. Since our son had his court date for visitation, we made a detour toward his location. Court went perfectly! he gets to see the kids more with a defined pick up and drop off time. The mother was asked, or shall I say told to follow court orders and go to mediation to work out a permanent schedule. If she can't be reasonable then it will go to trial. The judge felt what our son was asking for was very reasonable. So we left doing our Happy Dance!  

On the way things were going great. The clouds were going to create some awesome sunsets. As it began to set, it created some rays from heaven.

Unfortunately as we came into town, about 10 minutes from home we lost the tread of one of the tires on the trailer. Since the tire didn't pop we limped home going 25 miles an hours. It took us a good 45 minutes.

Because we had to go so slow, Iwas able to get a lot of beautiful sunset pictures.

It was nice to be home and the tire made it all the way. When my hubby checked it in our drive he said he had no idea how it made it home. There was no tread left at all and it should have blown out. I think, no I believe it was God's plan.
