Okay, it's not the very first thing but when I get done with my devotions, morning chores, and finally get around to turning on my laptop for the day, I am greeted with an awesome picture of somewhere. I will probably never get to see something so beautiful if not for these wonderful people who are able to go and capture some awesome views.
This morning it was this Caravan Trail in China.
"Sometimes called the Hui Hang Ancient Road, or Hui Hang Gu Dao, the caravan trail crosses the boundary between Anhui Province and Zhejiang Province. Once used as a trade route, primarily for the exchange of tea and grain, it’s now a trekking route for visitors looking to follow in the footsteps of merchants from centuries past. The trail passes through a variety of landscapes, including bamboo forests and steep mountain passages such as the portion seen in this photo. A two-day hike along the trail can take you from a village in Jixi County in Anhui Province, to an end point outside of Hangzhou in Zhejiang.
Of course, if you’ve traveled all the way to China for the hike, you’ll probably want to take your time walking the caravan trail."
I surely won't be going to China any time soon.
I love that all I have to do is click the picture and bing does the rest. A full page of knowledge appears where one can learn almost anything they want to about the place in the picture.
It's not like I am not familiar with bing, google, or any other search engine. After all I can be a google geek! I tend to search all kinds of things though out the day. It's just I wouldn't know to search for that particular place if it hadn't been in the randomly changing wallpaper of the morning.
Not all of them have been of far away places. Some are right here in the USA. Those are the ones that get added to my Bucket List Notebook. Most of them are of places that our RV will take us.
Like:
Maltnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. Wikipedia
When I saw these falls and learned I was so close to them back in 2015, I couldn't believe it. Do you know how often that happens? After all, I thought I had researched our route for that road trip fairly well. Even with what we missed there was nothing I would have done differently. Okay, maybe there was a couple of things, none of which would have altered that journey. Everything that was suppose to happen, did. But you can bet they won't be missed the next time we are up in that area.
Then there was:
Harriman State Park
The view in the picture on bing might be hard to see unless I'm in a plane or up on some hill top. My desire to visit this area is for the foliage. I have always wanted to see the fall colors of the northeast. Vermont must also be included in this adventure, as well as some other places I will probably find or be told about between now and then.
The Wave
This is one place I hope to get to sooner then the others as it is right here in my own state. Once again we have been close a couple times but it takes planning to get there. We are planning a trip through that area this summer but I'm not sure we will have time this trip either. Someday that box will be check on the bucket list along with other places of interest surrounding it.
As will:
Lime Kiln Light
The Lime Kiln Lighthouse is a functioning navigational aid located on Lime Kiln Point overlooking Dead Man's Bay on the western side of San Juan Island, San Juan County, Washington, in the United States. Wikipedia
With the many trips we have taken to Orcas Island, we have never gone over to Friday Harbor nor to Vancouver. Now I have a reason too. I LOVE lighthouses
When I saw this other picture on my bing thing, the links above led me to the
Lighthouse Park Vancouver.
Lighthouse Park is a popular park in West Vancouver, Canada. It covers about 75 hectares and it is almost completely covered with rugged, virgin rainforest.Wikipedia
However, the description below said Lime Kiln Lighthouse. So I researched both. I think both need to be added to the list as well.
I now have a number of places saved from that bing thing.
I wonder what other adventures I will discover for Our Journey Through LIFE!
