What I Found The First Week!

It didn't take me long to capture some of the items on the list. Being a holiday weekend, and already having a birthday party planned, made it easier as many things were readily available.

#Backyard                                                                         #Balloons

#Beachball

The beachballs were left over from a our promotion party just a few weeks ago. Still had a few floating around so I lined them up for a shot!

#Berries                                                                    #Buddies

#Fireworks                                                                          #Fireworks

#Fireworks                                                 #Goldenhour

 #Headband                                                                    #Homegrown

My #Homegrown was a flower I started from seed. I just love the colors on this one. More are growing too!

#Innertube                                                                #Lawnchair

 #Marshmallow                                                             #Melon

Made some #Marshmallow pops for the kiddo's and cut #Stars out of the #Melon. with all the fireworks and stars available these last couple days, I could have easily hashtag the 99 items using just those items!

#Outdoordining

#Party                                                                             #Petal

#Pinwheel                                                                    #Splash

#Splash                                                                         #Splash
#Swim                                                                        #Sunflare

#Underwater                                                         #Underwater

Surfing on sisters back as she was #Underwater and seeing how long two "Grand's" can stay #Underwater worked perfect!

 #Waterballoons                                                           #Wheelbarrow

8th Annual Scavenger Hunt

My daughter has participated in Clickin Moms scavenger hunt since she started it 8 years ago! Though she always was the one to sign up, I would try to click a few off myself, but never enough to #hashtag them or register myself so to be included.

Until this year!

Yep, I am going to give it a try myself. It's 30 days to find 99 things to capture from a list. I don't know how I am going to get some of these, like a sunflare, but doing my best is all that is needed. Sure some of the prizes are encouraging but there are way by far photographers. I do it for the fun and if by chance a prize is earned, WaaHoo!

Check it out and join the fun!

HOW TO PLAY:

1. Gather up your kids, your significant other, and/or your best friend, and let them know that summer just got a lot more fabulous. A wet, wild, sticky, sweet, joyful July awaits!
2. Register. You can find the registration form at the end of this post.
3. Download the list, print it out, stick it on the fridge, or fold it up and tuck it in your pocket!
4. Photograph an item on the list. Pictures may be taken with any kind of camera and processed (or not) as you see fit.
5. Post your photo to Instagram or Facebook with hashtags #ClickinMomsHunt16 and #ListItem (e.g., #waterballoon or #frisbee). Make sure you include both hashtags! Every photo you post of a list item counts as an entry, which means you’re eligible to win whether you post one image or one hundred. However, the more you post, the more entries you receive!

Flag Day, A 5th Birthday, And So Much More!

June 14, 1777, commemorates the adoption of the United States flag, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

In 1916, the president of the United States issued a proclamation that officially established June 14th as Flag Day.

In 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

If you want to learn more go to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It also commemorates the day our last grandchild was born.

Boy or Boy! From the very beginning I was scared to death of my daughter getting pregnant again. Her last pregnancy did not go well and it was best if she not have anymore children. God had other plans, so on that day when she surprised us with the news, I had to reach deep for faith that it would be okay. I had no idea just what God's plan was. I just felt like a mother bear protecting her young. In no way did I want my fear to cloud her joy, so I gave it to Him, and He gave us this awesome little dude and so much more!

His arrival was not as planned either. I was bouncing back and forth between home and my son. Each week it got closer I got a bit antsy. His mom wanted a natural birth this time and she worked hard toward her goal. I think her Midwife knew all along what could happen but she supported her plan. I believe she had some thoughts of her own and at that right times encouraged some minor assistance with the, "just in case?", added for comfort. It went bad from there, and I mean really bad. The anesthesiologist who administered the anesthesia, administered to much. She had no control of anything, even breathing!

Of course I didn't know what was going on at first. Being outside the room didn't help. Codes are going off. Carts are rolling in. Nurses are coming out and others are rushing in. It was another one of those longest 15 minutes of my life. I finally got to go in for just a few minutes before they whisked her off for a emergency "C" section.

THIS WAS NOT THE PLAN!

Flash back 2 months earlier, I was at a different hospital, waiting for those words from my sons doctor, "We got all the cancer and we saved his leg!" That was the longest 14 hours of my life. Each hour we got updates, but towards the end, he was getting tired of being under, mesh wasn't cooperating, but the doctors didn't give up. 3 hours later he made it to ICU. Prayers were answered.

This time, I sat in that waiting area alone. Pacing and praying. Finally a nurse came and got me but she wouldn't say anything. She guided me to a door, opened it, and finally said, "He has news for you!"

There stood her hubby, a proud new daddy of a son! You see, no one knew if it was a boy or a girl. She wanted this one to be a surprise. BOY! Was he ever!

The prayers then took me on a journey that only God could have guided me through. Remember my post on "What Faith Can Do!" Well here we are, 5 years later. Hope that never ends. Miracles continue to happen. Dreams still move mountains. Silent prayers are still answered and so much more!
