The Simple Woman's Daybook ~ September

Yeah. It's. September!

I've been waiting over a year for this month.
It marks the halfway point in our adventures.
It hasn't been easy.
The waiting, planning, preparing, changing, searching, finding, or creating
what it could possibly be or what it wouldn't be.
All while healing physically, emotionally and spiritually which has finally brought us to here.

Looking out my window...

...of the wine train, the scenery was remarkable.

I am thinking...
...43 years ago I had no thoughts of celebrating our first date in such style!

 I am thankful...
...for all the opportunities we have had through these 40 adventures and beyond.

One of my favorite things...
...is being able to travel in our Travel Trailer.
Lake Mead and Las Vegas, Nevada
Baker, NV and Bakersfield, CA
 McFarland and Napa Valley, CA

I am creating...
... additional pages to my album documenting our recent travels for our 40 adventures.
Eventually, I will get them posted to the blog.
It seems to be taking me longer and longer after a trip to get this done.

I am wearing...a pair of jeans and a navy blue tank top.
My LulaRoe's are in the laundry.

I am watching...the Confirmation Hearings. I won't get into politics here.
However, being a surviving victim, I believe and support her.
I believe this is a problem in our world today, defend the attacker and destroy the accuser.
It happens within families, not just our government.
It happens in the workplace, even our churches.
That is where I stand, and I don't need a debate about it.

I am hoping...things that have developed recently continue to work themselves out as they are meant to.
What will be, will be!

I am learning...that some things are just out of my control!

In my kitchen...it's like Old Mother Hubbards cupboards, they're bare!
I emptied the trailer on Monday of all its food, so we've just been eating left-overs.
Yesterday was my Grandma Day, and the grandson even mentioned how little there was.
Asked if he wanted to help me shop, he said, "Nay, I want to watch my shows."
So, here I sit typing, waiting for the pest dude, who is already a half hour late.
9-11AM has come and gone!!!
He has no clue I need to get this shopping done!

The Simple Woman's Daybook ~ August

Today is the last day of August, and I am just now getting to my Daybook for the month. Since this year started out very odd, I decided to use the Daybook as my entry on my main blog for the year. Keeping up with the post for our 40-4-40 adventures is enough for this old gal. I've done pretty well getting my 365 Day's a Year photo's posted so far as well. Granted I tend to post the whole month at a time, but it is better than not at all!
Only missed a couple of days so far, yeah!
What a MONTH August was!

Looking out my window...
...I can see many different things.
It all depends on which window I may be looking out.
From the living room, I still see the DEAD garden that still has the two broken umbrella's twirling about from last months monsoon!
Bella looks out the same window but to keep an eye out for those feral cats and chickens that wandered in.
One bark and they run!
From the closet window, I see a construction mess!
Kitty doesn't mind looking out the window though.
She has taken over the makeshift reading nook I made.
It's made out of a hope chest and a quilt until I get something better.
What I would love to find is the right comfy chair to replace it.
I also took down those curtians as well.
While looking out the window of the car, another monsoon was brewing in the distance!

It was coming as we were going.

 I am thinking...
...how far we have come, and how far we still have to go!
We couldn't have done what we have or what we will be doing without His blessings!
...these last 40 years have taken us to the highest mountains we thought we couldn't climb, to below sea level, thinking we are going to drown!
Then His grace comes upon us, and in the blink of an eye, everything begins changing, growing, just as it's supposed to.
...only of where He has us right now.
I am thankful...
...for so much!
Not a day begins nor ends without praising Him for every part of it!
He's the God of All my days!
...that the repairs to the truck were less than we had feared.
...that God sent us an Angel. Seriously, our new employee's name is Angel!
One of my favorite things...
...is getting ready for one of our adventure!
I am creating...
... a unique book for an extraordinary couple, who's wedding is part of our upcoming adventure.
I am wearing...a pair of jeans and a loose fitting tee.
I am watching... it's more like listening to NASCAR while I write the post. I'm also watching an old dog, so he doesn't get attacked by a wild cat!
In my kitchen...is a bunch of recipes that really need organizing!
I've been slacking these last few months but for a good reason. Up until the end of July, I still couldn't reach with my left arm. Now I can, but it does have some weight limits.
Recipes would qualify as light lifting.

The Simple Woman's Daybook ~ July

For Today

Looking out my window...
As I kept an eye on Kitty as she explored the yard, I watched her climb her first tree!

It's become a routine. Every morning when the dogs are let out, so Kitty has been joining them. Bella will keep an eye on her too!
I am thankful...
We had the opportunity to get out of the heat and spend the day at the coast.
 One of my favorite things...
are Bubbles!
Actually watching the "Grand's" make BIG bubbles!

My new favorite thing is my LensBall!
I am learning to create...some cool pictures with it.
I also learned to watch where the sun is. Remember how we use to use a pair of glasses or a magnifying glass to burn leaves. Well, the LensBall does the same thing. Those bright spots in the ball and on my hands are where it began to burn me.
I am wearing...a pair of capris jeans and a tank top.
I am watching...Battle of the Sexes
In my kitchen...I baked up some fresh caught Halibut one of my boys caught. Laid fillets in a pie pan. Added some lemon, pepper, and spread butter over the top. Sprinkled a decent amount of Italian Panko Crumbs over that and baked at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
In my garden...are fried green tomatoes, again! At least this year I got some before the extreme heat hit. Even my watermelon I was so thrilled about didn't survive! Our yard guy has been working on the weeds for me, preparing it for a fall garden. I'll be interested to see how that goes!
